Dr. Raoof Al Tuma

Dr. Rawof Rasheed Jawad Al Tuma is a Professor of Orthodontics at the College of Dentistry, University of Karbala, Iraq.

He earned his B.D.S., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Orthodontics from the University of Baghdad. Alongside his academic career, he has maintained an active orthodontic practice in Karbala since 2006, treating a wide range of orthodontic cases, including complex multidisciplinary cases.

Dr. Al Tuma has a special interest in contemporary orthodontics, particularly clear aligner therapy, passive self-ligating systems with emphasis on the Damon Ultima System, skeletal anchorage using mini-implants, and skeletal maxillary expansion.

He is an active national and international speaker, regularly delivering lectures and hands-on courses on modern orthodontic concepts and clinical techniques.

His research focuses on orthodontic biomaterials, preventive orthodontics, and clinical trials evaluating innovative treatment approaches, with several publications in internationally indexed journals.

He continues to contribute to orthodontic education, research, and patient care while actively participating in professional orthodontic organizations.
