Prof. Omar Chawshli is a Professor and Consultant in Orthodontics with a solid academic and clinical background.
Born in Erbil, Iraq, he earned his B.D.S. from Salahaddin University (1995–2000), his M.Sc. in Orthodontics (2005–2008), and his Ph.D. in Orthodontics (2010–2014) from Hawler Medical University (HMU).
He is a certified practitioner in the Incognito® lingual system (2014) and the DAMON system (2017). His expertise includes Roth and MBT systems, lingual orthodontics, DAMON, and clear aligners.Prof. Chawshli serves as Professor and Head of the Orthodontic Department at HMU and was Vice Dean of the College of Dentistry from 2015 to 2020.
He teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate orthodontics and biomechanics and has supervised over 20 MSc and PhD students.He is a member of leading dental and orthodontic societies, including IDA, IOS, AOS, WFO, AAO, EOS, and SIDO, and has authored more than 33 scientific publications. He is also an international keynote speaker at conferences and training programs.
